What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is investing in its network to improve the way we live, work, and communicate. Our network transformation will be critical for all our future connectivity businesses including new products such as IoT, 5G, and future smart cities. As part of this network transformation, you will help build one network engineered for growth for all lines of business.

You will be responsible for leading a team of Engineers and Project Managers in the design, engineering and implementation of fiber optic infrastructure and transmission technologies across major metropolitan markets. You’ll develop an understanding of business drivers, technological direction and market conditions necessary for developing and implementing cost effective and highly reliable fiber optic transport networks.

  • Interfacing with internal organizations at various levels to understand business drivers, engineering standards, and market-level deployment plans.
  • Coordinating with Sourcing and external suppliers to assess capabilities, cost and timeline for deployment of OSP and Transport assets.
  • Providing oversight and direction for the design, initiation and implementation of network deployment plans to meet budgetary and timeline constraints.
  • Anticipating technical and tactical challenges and develop contingency plans necessary for controlling costs and maintaining market deployment schedules.
  • Communicating status and issues effectively at various levels of the organization.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to be on-call after hours and on weekends.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • A valid Driver's license.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree in Engineering or Business Management.
  • Extensive experience in Outside Plant/Inside Plant engineering, construction, and project management.
  • Six or more years of experience leading teams.
  • Verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional and remote teams.
  • Management and leadership skills.
  • Communication skills.
  • Experience with next generation transmission technologies and outside plant (OSP) construction and permitting practices.
  • Flexibility to change and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

If you are hired into a Nevada work location, the compensation range for this position is between $116,000 and $215,000 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
