What you’ll do

You will be the Product Manager for TomTom’s Mobility Services API, responsible for product strategy, roadmap and achieving defined outcomes, with the overarching objective of driving the product to success. You will work closely with a dedicated development team in Berlin, to make the right investment decisions. And you will spend a significant part of your time developing the business, by identifying opportunities, prospects and partners.

Your responsibilities are:

  • Be accountable for the Mobility Services API’s success in terms of customer satisfaction, number of transactions, costs, non-functional KPIs and SLAs
  • Have a thorough understanding of the market, customers, competition and technology and provide engineers line of sight to customer value
  • Create, maintain and communicate the product vision and the product strategy, aligned with TomTom Group, Business Units, and Product Unit strategy
  • Create and maintain an epic/feature roadmap derived from the product strategy in order to guide development
  • Achieve stakeholder alignment on significant product choices including strategic product features, product architecture, and significant technology choices
  • Be the so-called Outcome Owner and work with the development team to achieve those outcomes
  • Support engineering in defining engineering requirements consistent with the product direction and roadmap (e.g. working with Scrum Product Owners to define and to prioritise user stories and other backlog items)
  • Contribute to product release planning activities (e.g. providing product vision and desired release scope briefings)
  • Explore and implement new business models and revenue streams
  • Achieve stakeholder (incl. internal and external customers and suppliers) alignment on product strategy, roadmaps and major product choices in order to optimize the value stream and define priorities
  • Develop the business for your product; identify opportunities, prospects and partners, and drive these to commercial success
  • Support Sales & Marketing by providing product information, such as commercial slide decks supporting an effective sales process and by participating in critical meetings with business customers
  • Contribute to our RfQ response process to make sure any quotation is in line with the current and foreseen product capabilities

What you’ll need

  • A passion for online APIs, mobility services, fleet and logistics, with an expert understanding of the customer market, the product category, and the competitive landscape
  • Completed Master level degree in a relevant field
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in Product Management in B2B software-intensive technology organizations, with a proven track-record of managing successful products
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum
  • A strong technical background, to have meaningful dialogues with, and gain the respect of, product owners, software architects and engineers
  • Intellectually capable – strong analytical skills, structure thoughts, identify and frame problems, and propose solutions with reasoned rationales
  • Can make decisions, even when there is no obvious best solution, achieving consensus amongst stakeholders when the decision is controversial
  • Ability to form a network of effective relationships within the company
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, excellent command of English
