WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for an Expert Security Automation Engineer. In this role, you will use your extensive knowledge of cloud security principles and technologies, CI/CD Pipelines, scripting, API creation and integration, industry best practice, professional experience, collaboration and good judgment to design and develop creative solutions that help drive consistency and streamline security tools and solutions at Nike.

We are looking for a high energy individual with deep experience and passion for developing cloud native applications, APIs, and data pipelines. This individual will work with a globally distributed team and with a wide range of technologies, both cutting-edge and legacy, and coordinate with both technical and non-technical business teams. Tenacity, an open and curious mind, and desire to learn and understand is critical for success on this team.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON
  • Act as the technical leader for a globally distributed team
  • Solve unique and complex problems in supporting security, business, and technology requirements at speed and scale
  • Develop and follow best practices for tools and automation development
  • Integrate tools and systems via API
  • Design and build process and workflow orchestration
  • Champion secure DevOps principals and CI/CD pipelines
  • Leverage cloud technologies and serverless architectures
  • Define solutions, provide estimates on effort and risk, and evaluate technical feasibility
  • Perform technical code reviews
  • Model reliability and ensure that the team meets its commitments
  • Foster an environment that encourages and enables others to build skills and develop their careers
  • Contribute to the development of the functional strategy and roadmap, building energy and optimism in others for the vision.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH

This position will report to the Director of Cloud Security and Automation Team, and will lead the Security Automation team. You will work with the team director, technical leads, and partners within Corporate Information Security and Global Technology.

Open to remote work, except cannot work in Colorado, South Dakota, Vermont Nevada, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field, or any combination of relevant equivalent experience, education and training
  • Deep foundational knowledge of secure software engineering practices, particularly on distributed and cloud native architectures
  • Highly passionate about delivery, being comfortable with both providing technical direction as well as being a contributing member of the team.
  • Expert programmer using Python and/or Node.js software development, testing, and tooling required
  • Deep experience and comfort with developing REST API’s required; experience developing Graph API’s a plus
  • Direct experience with containers, container runtimes (i.e. Kubernetes), and/or serverless required
  • Direct experience with building CD pipelines with toolsets like Jenkins, CircleCI, Artifactory required
  • Direct experience and comfort with OAuth authentication flows and concepts required technologies
  • High emotional intelligence, able to deliver difficult messages directly and with compassion
  • Able to anticipate business, technical, or regulatory challenges and recommend processes, products, or improvements.
  • Able to present complex ideas, anticipate potential objections and persuade others to adopt a different point of view
  • Self-directed and comfortable with working in a fast-paced, results-driven, and often ambiguous environment
  • Takes pride in work, showing focus, high attention to detail, and build quality
  • Able to effectively communicate with leadership, business, and technical teams.
  • Overall passion for technology with a security-minded approach to problem solving.
