As the Director of Engineering, you will lead high performing, agile engineering team(s). Responsible for design, development, testing, delivery and maintenance partnering with product and program peers and business leaders to define and deliver the technology roadmap.

Who will you work with

The Engineering Director will be directly leading Engineering managers/Principal Engineers to effectively build, deploy and support applications that provide value for the business. To be successful, the Engineering Director will also work within the leadership team. They will partner with Product, Program and Architectural counterparts to deliver high quality solutions, on time. This role does require the candidate to interact with customers and interested parties in Nike’s other offices and locations to coordinate, plan and ultimately deliver.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
  • 10+ years of experience designing and delivering high technology projects across web & mobile platforms.
  • 5+ years of E-Commerce experience
  • 5+ years of experience building on-site search platforms using Solr/Elasticsearch
  • 5+ years of experience managing geographically distributed high performing teams
  • Deep understanding of integrating with AI/ML solutions to personalize search experiences.
  • Experience in caching & in-memory data grid solutions
  • Proven understanding of RESTful APIs and writing applications that consume them
  • Experience leading teams with deploying, configuring, monitoring and operating cloud-based applications (AWS, etc.)
  • DevOps (CICD) and SRE experience
  • Experience with the phases of standard software development lifecycles (Agile/Scrum)
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, sophisticated, high visibility environment with multiple, competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to express software designs both verbally and diagrammatically

Open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate.

For employees based in Colorado, this position starts at $157,500 per year. Information about benefits can be found here.
