Au pair in practice

Many young people want to work as an aupair. But what does it mean, working as an aupair? An aupair is a person (usually a student) who lives with a family abroad for a certain period. The aupair earns some pocket money by doing household duties, for instance cleaning rooms but more important taking care of children. An aupair gives serenity to the family it lives with. Furthermore, the aupair contributes to the development of the multicultural future of the children and the development of their language skills. Below you find some experiences of students who worked as an au pair.

<< London, England - Sonja: After graduating high school I worked for two years as an aupair. The family where I lived was not used to have an aupair. For the both of us, the situation was completely new. They were not used to have a help in the household and I did not have any experience as an aupair. However, after a month we both got used to each other and things worked out very well! The amount of work was quite relaxed and easy. Normally I worked about approximately 30 hours a week. Aupair(s) never become rich ( in terms of money). However, because of the new language and culture, the experiences you have are priceless. When you want to study English after high school like me, I highly suggest to become an au pair in England. Working as an aupair expands your vocabulary especially with children in the family. I am sure that studying English is much easier, thanks to my time as aupair. Of course I want to thanks www.searchjobsabroad.com, due to this website I found a great job as an aupair.

<< Paris, France - Stella: For the third time I stopped my study. To reflect my future plans (i.e. study, work), I thought it would be a good idea to go abroad as an aupair. Just to live for a while in a different culture. In this case working abroad as an aupair is ideal. Because of the small number of hours of work, It gives enormous possibilities to reflect your thoughts and you have a lot of leisure. In Paris, where I lived as an aupair, there are plenty activities to do. Aupair(s) are very common in Paris and I also had a lot of contact with other aupair(s). It was funny to discuss their experiences with the aupair family. For that time I really loved to be an aupair. However, it is not the ultimate job. Last year I started a new study and it is going well now! Thanks to www.searchjobsabroad.com to find me a job as an aupair.
